It is the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter. ~Marlene Dietrich

*All of us at Piazzale Michelangelo- One of the highest points in all of Italy and the best view of Florence*

It would be an understatement to say I'm having a blast so I hope it doesn't go by fast. From drinking wine and going out to dine, It is safe to say I am doing just fine. Today I finally booked my trip to Interlaken, Switzerland with the crew, too bad they don't call bathrooms the "Lou". Tonight we are taking a break from the usual Italian and getting Sushi for dinner, I certainly hope It is a winner.

Dropping a class..It happens

So the day began with an 8:00 am wake up call. After having searched the city with mama D, papa D, Baby A and myself, yesterday, searching for classes, I was set and ready to go on my way to Via San Gallo. I arrived at Ceramics for beginners at approximately 9:00 am. About 37 seconds into the class I realized it just wasn't for me. It might have had something to do with the zero art experience I have, the 9 hour a week field work or the many friday "artsy fridays" I must attend instead of traveling, or it might have been the outrageous EUROS that were expected of me during the next week..And if none of those things, it was definitely the fact that during the 6 hour class I only have a 9 and a half minute break... Either way I got the hell out of there at first chance.

I walked into my apartment at approximately 9:08 to find Dan passed out on our futon, recovering from sunday wine night.. After explaining to my roommates and Dan about my horrific experience, he decided he was going to drop his 6 hour drawing class as well. I mean, why on earth wouldn't you?

And so We were off to walk across the city to add/drop our class. We walked about a half hour only to be told me were at the wrong building. Once we got to the right building and waited in line, and checked our emails and waited in line again, we were told to go back to the first building. We did just that where we met a pleasant Italian. She had an american Accent, wore abercrombie and was using an Iphone, but yeah, shes definitely Italian. When I asked if she was American she said "No, I just went to K-12 there".. she's 24. So once we finished with miss happy go lucky we were all set.. well at least I was.. Dan will have to wait till tomorrow at 9..

ROME if you want to, ROME around the world..

CIAO!

Rome in a nutshell:

And so the adventure began with the longest plane ride of our lives. After sitting on a flight for almost 9 hours (watching the italian couple in front of us make out the entire time, with their seats pushed all the way back) Devin and I made it to ROME, ITALIA. Our first meal began with traditional Italian Paninos, for dinner I ate the best spaghetti of my life! However, the best part of the day would have to be when I ate hazelnut gelato while sitting outside the Colosseum. The next day began with a guided tour of the Colosseum and roman ruins.

Later that night, after an amazing dinner of course, my friends and I went to the Trevi fountain! I must say the Trevi is the most beautiful place in Rome. I was so shocked by its size and beauty.

Even later that night, my friends and I went to the ICE BAR where everything is made out of ice including the igloos, drinks, floors, seats ETC. It was awesome and a MUST if ever in Rome.

And last but not least, we ended our last day in Rome at the Vatican and St. Peters square...

Travels Abroad

Ciao!

I am currently a Junior at the University of New Hampshire and proud to say I am studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I will spend the next 4 months immersing myself in art, history and the Italian language. Not to mention I will be studying "Wine Appreciation".. and what better place than "Under the Tuscan Sun"? With just one day left before I begin my Italian adventure I still have lots of packing to do!  My first stop in Europe will be Rome.. and you know what they say.. "When in rome, do as the romans do"!
